Tips for Buying a New Construction Home
- Bring your own agent on your first visit. Many builders only work with your agent if you register then. The sales team represents the builder, not you.
- Compare what’s included, not just the base price. Solar, appliances, garage size, fencing, and lot premiums can change the real cost.
- Ask about incentives. Rate buydowns and closing-cost credits are common on quick move-ins, but usually require the preferred lender and change monthly. I never promise a specific incentive; we verify what’s live that week.
- Get an independent inspection before drywall and before closing.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much do new construction homes cost in Plumas Lake?
As of October 2026, builder sites list starters from the mid-$400s (Cresleigh Bluffs from $456,000; Luna Bella from the upper $400s; Lennar from about $471,990–$475,990) into the mid-$500s at Seasons at Riverton North (from about $546,950). Pricing depends on plan, lot, and options.
Which builders are building new homes in Plumas Lake?
Cresleigh Homes (Bluffs and Grove at Plumas Ranch), Lennar (Rio Del Oro Brightwood and Northpoint), K. Hovnanian Homes (Luna Bella), and Richmond American Homes (Seasons at Riverton North and South).
Do new homes in Plumas Lake come with solar or all-electric features?
It depends on the builder. Lennar markets Brightwood and Northpoint as all-electric. K. Hovnanian states that solar is not included in Luna Bella’s advertised price and can be leased or purchased. Always ask how solar is handled before you compare prices.
Are there Plumas Lake new homes with RV parking or multigenerational layouts?
Yes. Richmond American mentions RV and three-car garage options at Riverton North. K. Hovnanian offers Extra Suite+ on select Luna Bella plans (such as Seine ESP). Lennar’s Next Gen® designs at Northpoint support multigenerational living. Confirm options before you reserve.
Do I need a real estate agent to buy a new construction home?
It isn’t required, but it’s highly recommended. Many builders offer compensation to buyer’s agents, so representation may cost you little or nothing extra. Ask the builder about its policy, and make sure your agent registers you on your first visit.
